Authorities found a managing director of Goldman Sachs hiding out in his luxury sport utility vehicle after allegedly raping a young woman at a vacation rental home in the Hamptons, according to local sources.
A grand jury is expected to indict Jason Lee, 37, on a charge of first-degree rape as a result of a hearing in which the alleged victim appeared. Lee was arrested on Aug. 22 in East Hampton, N.Y, and later posted $20,000 bail.

The East Hampton Star, citing an unnamed source, revealed more details about the arrest: Lee was arrested at 2:24 p.m. on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman, a foreign national, earlier that day. The felony complaint charges that Lee held her down with his forearm and proceeded to rape her during a party at the vacation rental.
Officials withheld the name of the woman, a student who had been working in the area for the summer. She has either returned home, or is about to do so, according to the local newspaper. Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota fast-tracked the grand jury indictment because the alleged victim was scheduled to leave the country in the immediate future.

The alleged victim was with a group of foreign students last Monday evening celebrating the end of their summer employment at the Georgica restaurant and lounge in Wainscott, not far from Lee’s rented house. They were met by Lee and his friend, Rene Duncan, who were at Georgica to celebrate Lee’s 37th birthday. He invited the group to their home when the restaurant closed, and the group, numbering seven, continued drinking and partying in the backyard swimming pool. The Star cites a source as saying they were either partially clothed or in the nude. Police allege that at some point Lee and the young woman entered the house, where the rape occurred.
East Hampton Town police arrived on the scene when Duncan dialed 911 and reported that his car might have been stolen by one of the group members. When they arrived, the brother of the alleged victim drew an officer aside and led her into the house, where the 20-year-old was interviewed. Lee then purportedly went to the driveway and tried to hide in his Range Rover, where he was found by police.
Lee’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr. of Sag Harbor, told the court during the arraignment that his client “adamantly denies these allegations.” If convicted as charged, Lee will serve between five and 25 years in prison.
